Maytag Dryer Drum Roller Kit

This drum roller parts kit is used for some gas and electric dryers to help support the drum and allow it to turn smoothly inside of the clothes dryer.  The parts replacement kit contains (2) rollers, (4) tri-rings and (1) retaining washer.  The most common symptoms that the drum rollers have failed are, the dryer is very noisy, or the drum will not turn.  Be sure and use the model number from your appliance to ensure that these are the correct OEM replacement parts to repair your specific dryer model with.

Maytag Electric Dryer Heating Element

Part Number – 279838

The dryer heating element 240V 5400W, is located inside the back of the clothes dryer attached to the heater housing.  If your electric dryer is not heating, you will need to test the thermal fuse first, it is located on the blower housing, if the thermal fuse is good you will need to check for loose or burnt wires or a break in the heating element coils.  If the coils have a break in them, the heating element will need to be replaced with a new one.  Always unplug or disconnect the electrical power source to the appliance before attempting to repair it.

Maytag Dryer Thermal Fuse

Part Number – WP3392519

Dryer thermal fuse.  This part is also known as the thermal cutoff fuse and the temperature fuse.  The component is used as a safety mechanism, cutting off electricity to the dryer motor and the heating element to keep the dryer from getting too hot.  Once this fuse has blown it cannot be reused. If your fuse has blown, you will need to check for blockage or lint build up in the dryer’s vent hose or ventilation system, before installing a new thermal fuse, only to have it blow again.  Please remember to unplug or disconnect the electrical power source to the clothes dryer before attempting to replace this part.

Maytag Dryer Belt

Part Number – 341241

The dryer belt is used to turn the drum located inside the clothes dryer, it is a flat belt that measures 92 1/4 inches long and 1/4 inch wide.  This is an authentic OEM replacement belt that uses an idler pulley to keep tension around the drum.  It is a ribbed belt with (4) ribs and (3) grooves, it replaces many dryer belts used on many other models.  The common symptom that this belt has failed is, the dryer motor runs but the drum will not spin.  Please be sure to use the model number on your clothes dryer to ensure that this is the correct repair part to repair your appliance.

Maytag Dryer Thermal Cut Off

Part Number – 279816

Thermal cut-off fuse.  This part is used to prevent the dryer from overheating when the dryer high limit thermostat has failed.  This parts kit includes (1) thermal cut-off fuse (309 degrees) (1) high-limit thermostat of 250 degrees Fahrenheit and the jumper wire.  The high limit thermostat and thermal cut-off fuse are both mounted on the heater housing.  Common symptoms that these parts have failed are, the dryer gets too hot, takes too long to dry the laundry, no heat, will not start.  Always unplug or disconnect the electrical power source to the unit before attempting to replace these parts.  Please be sure to use the model number on your appliance to ensure that these are the correct parts for your specific model.

Maytag Gas Dryer Flame Sensor

The dryer flame sensor is used on a gas dryer as a safety device.  The sensor is used to prevent high levels of gas from building up.  The sensor senses heat that is emitted from the igniter and monitors if it is hot enough to ignite the gas and light the burner.  Some signs that this component has failed are, the dryer takes too long to heat up, the dryer has no heat.  Please be sure to use the model number on your appliance when ordering this part, to ensure that this is the correct OEM replacement part for your particular appliance.

Maytag Dryer Blower Wheel

Part Number – WP694089

This dryer blower wheel is connected to the motor shaft.  As the dryer’s motor spins the blower wheel spins with it and blows air into the clothes dryer drum and out through the exhaust vent.  Note: This blower wheel has reverse threads, you will need to rotate the blower wheel clockwise to remove it from the dryer’s motor shaft.  Some common symptoms that this part has failed are, the dryer is noisy, will not tumble, will not start.

Maytag Dryer Door Switch

Part Number – WP3406105

This door switch is located in the front right top corner of the clothes dryer.  You will need to lift the top of the dryer to gain access to the door switch to replace it.  The most common symptom that this door switch has failed is, the dryer will not start.  Please remember to always unplug or disconnect the electrical power source to the appliance before attempting to replace any parts.

Maytag Dryer Door Catch Kit

Part Number – 279570

The door catch kit comes with (3) different plastic door catches and (2) metal strikes.  These parts work together to keep the dryer door closed.  You will need to choose the correct door catch for your particular model.  The plastic catch is mounted in the dryer door and the metal strike is mounted onto the dryer door opening on the dryer.  Some common symptoms that these parts have failed are, the clothes dryer will not start, shuts off in the middle of a drying cycle, door won’t stay closed.

Maytag Gas Dryer Igniter Kit

Part Number – 279311

Gas dryer igniter kit.  This replacement kit comes with a bracket, (2) wire nuts and the mounting screw.  The parts kit can replace both flat and round igniters. The igniter is located inside of the burner assembly.  Some common signs that the ignitor has failed are, the clothes dryer will not heat, takes too long to heat.  Note: you will need to take extra precautions while handling this igniter, it is a very fragile part.
